Letter to Oliver

Image
Dear baby Oliver, Why do you hurry  to grow up? Don't understand me wrong, I am glad and proud every time you do something new. Your noisy laughter melts my heart. The tender way you look into my eyes is just priceless. When you gently hold my hand it reminds me of all the times I have been thinking of you and waiting for you. Why don't you want to stop the time just for an instance? I wish I could keep the innocence in your eyes forever. I wish I could protect you from the bad. I want to see you growing a strong boy with a loving heart. I don't want you to get hurt in any way! Thank you for making me worth being called a "Mother". You have thaught me what patience is. You also help me understand that not everything should be about me. Your presence in our lives has made us better people. We can talk without saying any words. You are little but your heart is bigger than ours. There is room for everyone! This week you turned 8 months. 8 months of Joy, Love ...

X reasons for why volunteering made me a better person

I have met the term volunteering when I was in the United States, and I had completed my first volunteering hours. It never felt that I was doing something wrong. I knew volunteering was for me from the first experience. After that, when I came back home, everything happened naturally. An impressive number of projects and ideas started to appear in my life. I didn't even have to look for them. Unfortunately there  are people who still don't believe in volunteering - to give your time without being materially rewarded. However I am glad to see that there are more and more young people who want to make a change in their lives, communities and maybe even countries. So every time I was being asked what does it give you? I kept on answering that it is something that brings me joy, self esteem and pride! Besides that, I made up a list of more benefits, and I am sure that many other active volunteers will find themselves in this list. 1. I have met a lot of people. Almost each of...

Our 2nd anniversary

Image
Two years of #manoleteam!!! Two years ago we were so nervous in a very special way. We were worrying about everything! But we were sure that we were doing the right thing. Although today we are married with a baby, we haven't changed that much. This is why  I believe that you do not need a white dress and a black tie in order to celebrate love, but once in a life time you can try it, because it is an incredible experience. And I am glad we chose each other for that. I am not sure what should I write about our wedding. I know as a fact that we liked it very much. Of course, it was not perfect. But we enjoyed every minute of it. We did not have much time to organize everything and did not aim to have the most modern and finest event. We just wanted to get married to each other, to unify our souls forever, and after that to celebrate this moment with our families and friends. There is  a poem which I have found 3 or 4 years ago, when we were still dating. I liked it the...

Next stop: 24 !

Note: I was planning to post this a day before my birth day. Due to a sad event and an unexpected flight to Moldova I had to postpone it for better days. Here it is! They say that life is like a train, it keeps going and going until it stops forever. Well, I am not sure if I agree with that. but I am convinced that each year is a new beginning. It is  an opportunity for you to do the things you haven't done yet. So you have to accept this gift from above and live it all with your open heart and mind. Tomorrow I am 24, and I think it is the first year when I am not stressed out about the passing of  time. Have I learned to accept it? Probably. I've understood that we cannot stop the time, and wishing this is plain out childish. We will never be 16-18 or 20 again. Why not enjoy the new age? Why not see the life in its true colors? I have understood that each age has its pluses and minuses. Therefore we have no choice but to accept it. For every single day of our life is a bl...
