3 years of Oliver

I became the mother of Oliver on a Wednesday, a couple of minutes after 18:00. It was love at first sight. That little bundle of joy (who turned out to be 4 kg) has stolen our hearts.

Honestly, the first month of motherhood was not very easy. I was trying to figure out all of the breast feeding tricks and also to get used to sleeping less hours. We were too worried about everything. He seemed so tiny and fragile, and we were overthinking 🙂. But Oliver was a  perfect newborn. I couldn't wish for a better experience. He slept well, he didn't get sick, he liked my singing (and still does) 😄. He enjoyed taking baths. We were the happiest! Little did we know that out silent newborn will turn into a Mister Trouble in time 😁.

Today our baby is not an actual baby anymore. He is turning THREE! WOW! I still cannot believe it! So as you probably know, I always write about his year on his birthday.

The last year was very interesting for him and challenging enough for us. Here is what has changed:

- he started going to kindergarten. Initially It was terrible. He cried a little when I had to leave him there. But after 2 weeks he was excited to go.

- he has become a fan of Spiderman (don't ask me how and when). Everything he has must be Spiderman now. I wonder how long it will last.

- he loves books, and now has an interest for letters too.

- he loves music. I often catch him watching a video clip and dancing. He always sings in the bath-tub😁. I think he got it from me.

- he eats everything, and this makes us happy.

- he likes to cook both imaginary and real food. His best dish is pizza.

- his favorite hobby is making puzzles.

- he is very stubborn. We've learned that his NO's are irrevocable. This reffers mostly to getting dressed. He chooses what to wear. And in most of the cases it has to be something with Spiderman. He never stays dressed at home.

- his favorite cartoon: Alvin and the chipmunks.

- he talks a lot! He has made progress in both Italian and Romanian.

- he has made a lot of friends.

- Cars and motorcycles are his passion. He might be only 3 but he already recognizes the loggo of almost every car he sees.

- the bike is his best friend.

- he likes drawing. Of course, his drawings don't make too much sense, but to us they are the most artistic scribbles ❤️

Well, as you can see Oliver's year has been pretty intense. Now let me tell you about our experience as parents. As he is growing his demands and needs are changing, and they do not always correspond to our plans, possibilities or choices. Therefore, we have learned to negotiate. And God knows, how tough it can be😁! The most difficult tine was the period of lockdown. He wanted to go somewhere badly. We wanted to go out too. But since it was impossibile we had to look for alternatives. We had to stay home for 2 months. Luckily we had a backyard.

Another turning point was going to kindergarten. We knew he was ready. But everytime I had to leave him in the beginning I felt like a terrible mother. He has turned into a little man there. He learns a lot of new things. And then comes home and asks a thousand questions. But having long conversations with him is just too lovely and entertaining.

As you can see, unlike the other posts, now I can write about Oli for hours😁.  I will make the long story short. This year was not easy for any of us. But It was amazing! Watching our baby become more and more independent makes us both emotional and proud. Having him around Is so much fun. And  I am not  saying it just because every mom should say it. It is true! He is a great company and i love playing with him. I cannot wait to see what expects us next!

Take care of your little ones,

Love,

Alina ❤️
