5 Movies to watch on rainy days
Hello everyone!
How are you doing? Are you ready for something interesting?
I have been thinking about this post for a while now. Especially last
week when the weather was so gloomy and when watching a movie was a
"must". I like good movies with talented cast and interesting
messages. As many other girls i used to be a "chick flick" kind of
person, but lately i have changed my preferences. I choose movies which are
inspired by real events, and those based on books. Well, as they say - You only
live once, so why waste time on bad movies?!
I have prepared a list of the films which impressed me and i highly
recommend you to watch them in good company 😉
So here we go:
1. Gone with the wind
I am sure you've heard about it at least once in your life! What a
story! I read the book and watched the movie
and even though the it is not a recent one, i still love it! It
describes the life of American people during the Civil War - an important event
of the US history. The main character, Scarlett has to overcome a lot of
obstacles and problems until she grows into a strong and determined woman.
Although i do not always agree with her decisions and choices, I still admire
her very much. If you decide to watch this movie, make sure you do not have any
plans that day because it is rather a long film!!!
2. Invictus
Nelson Mandela is a very famous personality and most of us already know
about him and his difficult life. But this movie seems so real, so inspiring -
I just couldn't ignore it! Its message is very clear and strong - "we must
learn to love our enemies, and not live in anger". The movie also talks
about sports, family and love for the nation. There are so many inspiring
moments in just one movie.
3. 12 years a slave
I often think about slavery and how unfair it is to humanity. It is
heartbreaking to know how many lives have been touched by its cruelty. "12
years a slave" is the story of a free colored man who became a slave by
accident, or better said by being tricked. It is painful and sad to watch it,
but the worse thing is the fact that this has happened to other hundreds or
even thousands of people. Of course, the end of the movie is "happy",
but can 12 years of slavery really end happily?
4. The desert flower
This movie is about a Somalian girl who has found a way to move to a big
city. She was beautiful and very soon she was noticed by a modeling agent.
During the movie, we find out more of her childhood and the traditions which
are respected in her country. These traditions seem so cruel to us, who knows
what they think about our world?! However this girl managed to change the
vision and perception of the humanity regarding life in third world countries.
5. The notebook
Finally! A love story on my list! I think i have watched this movie for
a dozen of times, and i still never get bored of it. It describes the love
story of a young couple, which had to go through so many obstacles in order to
be together. This story makes me believe in never ending LOVE! And i am sure
that most of you will recognize your love story in some moments of the movie.
Well, that's it for today! Let me know what movies do you like, and i
will make sure to watch them when the rainy weather is back.
Take care,
Alina.
